Even as it benefited from the U.S. government's "Cash for Clunkers" program, Toyota plans to close its only California factory.
Toyota announced Friday that it will shutter its only plant on the West Coast, leaving over 4,700 workers without jobs and putting an end to a 25-year joint venture with General Motors.
